After the massive popularity of ChatGPT bots, many AI-powered chat bots that support ChatGPT functionality have emerged. Besides the web app that provides an AI bot, there are a number of apps available for iPhone users that allow you to chat with the bot from your phone and that support many features that are not available in the web version, such as: voice prompts to replace written text and scanned images. Chat, create AI images to save directly to your phone or simply share with others, and much more.
If you are an iPhone user and would like to try an AI-based chatbot on your phone, you can try the following apps:
1-ChatGPT App:
OpenAI offers an official and free ChatGPT app for iPhone users, available on the App Store. The app works the same as the website but adds two more options.
You can enter voice prompts instead of typing them. To try this out, click the microphone icon to the right of the writing area in Command Prompt. When you're done speaking, tap the big circle to stop recording. Once your words are converted to text, click the arrow to send.
Another way to submit a request is to scan the text, provided you have a printed document or photo containing the question or request. Click in the text box, select Scan Text, point the camera at the text you want to capture, click Insert and submit the request to receive a response.
After selecting some or all of the answers, you can copy and paste any of the answers into another application. All your conversations are synced with ChatGPT through the website and mobile app and are saved in your chat history. To access previous chats, tap the three dots button, then select History and tap the chat you want to view.
2- Bing AI Chat:
Microsoft's Bing Chat app, which offers traditional search and AI chatbots and is based on OpenAI's GPT-4 language model, is free for iPhone users to download from the App Store.
To get started with the app, tap the Bing icon at the bottom of the screen and choose a conversation style from More Creative, Balanced, or Concise. Then write your request or tap the microphone icon and ask with your voice. To start a new chat, tap the delete icon on the left.
In addition to answering questions, you can ask Bing to analyze or provide information about your uploaded photos. Just hit the scan icon to the right of the command prompt box and the camera screen will appear. Tap the Photo Library icon to access the photos on your phone, or tap the shutter button to take a new photo. Then enter your image request and Bing will respond for you.
Each answer displays a small toolbar with icons for different options. Click the share icon to share the answer with others, or click the copy icon to copy and paste the answer elsewhere.
You can also ask the Bing bot to create an image by entering a prompt with a description of the image you want. Then the robot creates four images. Click on the image you want to download, copy or share to your phone.
3-ChatOn app:
ChatOn is based on the GPT-4 language model and is freely available to iPhone users from the App Store. The free version allows for limited calls, while the paid version costs $40 per year for unlimited calls. Plus a longer and more detailed answer.
To start using the app, type your request in the space provided or tap the microphone icon and speak. You can ask ChatOn to scan a photo's text by right-clicking the "Scan" icon and then selecting "Open Camera" to take a new photo, or by selecting a photo previously saved to your phone. Once the image is displayed, tap the Reveal button to instruct the app to remove the text. The text will then appear in the text field, which you can view and send.
Not only does the paid version of ChatOn provide unlimited chats and longer replies, but it also lets you set up an AI keyboard that you can use to type or view content. After enabling the keyboard, open any app that allows you to type text, then tap the globe icon and go to ChatOn. Then click "Write" and enter the command prompt. ChatOn then generates a response.
