Not only is Google Maps useful for giving you directions to a specific destination, but it also has many features to help you discover new places and read reviews. Also, you can check things like: air quality and whether or not the location is suitable. Wheelchairs are not accessible. With the immersive view feature, you can see the details of each new location before setting off.
In addition, there are a variety of other useful features that will make your travel easier. We mention here the following:
1- Live view function for easy navigation on foot:
When entering a new location, it can be difficult to find directions. That's why live view has been added to clearly guide you in the right direction.
To use Live View, do the following:
- Find a specific destination on Google Maps and click Directions.
- Select the hiking icon in the toolbar above the map, then click Live View.
- If you follow the instructions on the screen, Maps can find your location more easily. Once you know where you are, directions will appear on your phone screen.
- Your phone will also vibrate when it's time to turn around or reach your destination.
2- The ability to add multiple destinations:
If you need to stop multiple times during your trip, you can add multiple destinations to Google Maps. Maps then chooses the best route to all of your destinations and gives you an estimated time of arrival.
To try it out, do the following:
- Once you've found your first destination, tap on Directions and then on the three dots in the top right corner.
- Click (add station) and find your next destination.
- Repeat this process until you have finished adding all the stations you want to install, then click Finish.
- You can add up to nine stations, change their order, remove specific stations, and share tracks with others.
3- Access maps without an internet connection:
If you are traveling in an area without internet access, you can reach your destination by downloading area maps for offline use.
To use this function, do the following:
- Click your Google Maps profile picture in the upper right corner of your screen.
- Click (Offline Maps) and choose Choose my map.
- Select the region you want to access if your internet connection goes down, then click Download. After that you can use this map without internet connection.
4- Location recording function:
The Saved Places feature allows you to create a list of places you want to visit in the future, which is very useful when planning a trip.
To use this feature, tap the Recorder tab at the bottom of the main map screen. You can then create new lists or use basic lists such as (favorites) and (I want to go there). After creating a new list, an "Add" button will appear, allowing you to add sites to the list.
If you're browsing Google Maps and find a place you want to add to a specific list, scroll up then right, tap Save, and select the list you want to add the place to. You can also add notes to remind you of important location information and share lists with others.
5- Comments and ratings:
Many people turn to online searches for new places to visit, such as restaurants, museums, and hotels, to read ratings, reviews, and comments from people who have already visited those places.
However, you can do it directly from Google Maps instead of browsing the site. To access all of these details, find the place you want to visit on Google Maps and scroll down to see the photos, videos, and reviews people have added. Who visited this? location.
