For me, sharing a tablet with the little ones is a great solution without sacrificing ease of use. So far everything is working fine and without problems.
What sets this tablet apart is its ability to be a dual-use device. It is marketed as a children's tablet, with a padded cover and sturdy, oversized handle that doubles as a desk stand. There is a built-in parental control program and a separate mode for restricting children's access. Password protected of course.
You can then remove the panel, use the standard home launcher, and it becomes a standard tablet that can do almost anything a standard Android tablet can do. You have full access to the Google Play Store, so all your apps are available there.
As for the hardware, it feels pretty snappy thanks to the built-in 4GB RAM + 4GB RAM expansion, which allows more apps to stay active without having to close them. While this isn't as good as 8GB of physical RAM, it does allow for frequent switching between apps without reloading, which can mean running out of space in background apps. It's a good compromise between features and cost. You can turn it off or adjust the volume.
Additionally, storage can be expanded with a microSD card slot, headphone jack, stereo speakers, and charging via the USB-C port. Including the power supply.
Sometimes I leave the protective pad on because (as an adult) it gives me grip when using the tablet. It looks fairly thin and sleek, so you'll want to use it on the go, and while it might seem a little strange for an adult to carry around a bright blue curved tablet, it actually feels quite comfortable in the hand.
