Huawei announced on Friday that in addition to orders for its latest phone (Mate 60 Pro Plus), Mate 60 Pro+, the company also has a new generation of foldable smartphones (Mate X5).

The company did not officially reveal the chip used in the phone, but multiple reports from China indicate that it is the same Kirin 9000 chip used in the recently launched Mate 60 series.
The chip is based on 7nm SMIC technology and is said to support 5G networks.
Another interesting addition to the phone's specifications is a new antenna design that is said to improve signal reception. Huawei Consonance Antenna uses AI algorithms to identify the ideal network to ensure the best connection. The antennas around the device's frame also feature dual-mode tuning to improve signal quality.
The Mate X5 phone features It also has a battery with a larger capacity compared to its predecessor, at 5,060 mAh, with support for 66-watt wired charging, 50-watt wireless charging, and 7.5-watt reverse wireless charging.
As for programming, the phone runs on Huawei's HarmonyOS 4 operating system and features new gesture controls that allow you to browse videos, web pages, and photos without touching the home screen.
The Mate 5X also has IPX8 waterproof and dustproof function and supports Beidou two-way satellite communications in China.
Currently, Huawei's new foldable phone is open for pre-order at VMall China and general sales are expected to start on September 15.
