Google sets the date for its annual event to announce Pixel phones

Today (Wednesday) Google announced the date of the unveiling event for its new Made by Google devices, which will be held next month.

The American technology giant announced the date of its annual event, a day after rival Apple announced that it will hold an event on September 12 to unveil its upcoming iPhone 15 smartphones.

Google has set the date for its Made by Google 2023 event on October 4, which is consistent with previous years' events, which were also held in October.

At Google's planned event in New York, the company is expected to unveil the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones.

At the annual Google I/O 2023 developer conference last May, the company introduced the Pixel 7a and its first foldable phone, the Pixel Fold.

If Google follows this example in recent years, we could see the launch of a number of other devices, such as the Pixel Watch 2 smartwatch.

Last year's Pixel Watch had many pros and cons, but was hailed as the first real device to run Google Wear OS. Many of the device's features are a direct result of Google's acquisition of Fitbit in 2019.

After a somewhat rocky start for Google smartphones, Pixel smartphones have undergone a complete makeover compared to Pixel 6 smartphones and have enjoyed great popularity among a wide range of users thanks to premium designs, improved camera functions and Google's own chipset.

Google is not expected to release a new version of its Pixel tablet, but the company could unveil new versions of its Nest line of smart speakers and displays.

It should be noted that the event will be held online at five o'clock in the evening, Mecca time.

It is also worth noting that the announcement of the event date comes after the Pixel 8 Pro phone unexpectedly appeared on the company's store page.
