I was a bit reckless buying a "no name" monitor with these specs. In fact, I expected it to turn back on soon after I received it, but I was pleasantly surprised. A few caveats before the review: This is a sub-$200 monitor and I'd rate it based on that. It's not the equivalent of a $500+ gaming monitor. The 5-star rating is largely due to the fact that it performs as well or better than other monitors in this price range. I challenge you to find another 27-inch QHD, IPS, 165Hz monitor in this price range. Low budget for my eldest daughter and I admit I've tried to keep it as "budget" as possible so she can play Fortnite at a decent resolution and frame rate. Surprisingly, this screen does the functionality justice. For the price I couldn't ask for more in my opinion. However, there are some downsides, but nothing that would stop me from buying it again. It has built in features, the speakers are awful, sound hollow and distorted and it didn't matter much for our build as my daughter uses a gaming headset and I think most people who are interested in this monitor will too. The build quality is good except for the base/stand. It's made of plastic and feels like cast iron, but it's still heavy enough that the screen doesn't feel like it's going to fall. The display doesn't look cheap, but it's also undeniably gorgeous. The lights on the back can't be controlled, they are always the same color as the rainbow, and it's a good idea to adjust them. If you're on a tight budget and want a high-quality screen, this is a solid option. When I bought it I got a $25 off coupon and thought I had a special offer. Don't forget to spend your savings on buying a gaming headset.
