Review XGaming 120Hz Ultra Thin HDR QHD Portable Monitor

I picked this screen up and thought I might send it back because the previous USB screens I've seen were horrible, but this one is great. The resolution is great, about 2560 x 1600 on the older Apple 30-inch screens. Nobody can really do 1440p that big anymore, but 1600p is better because it provides a more usable aspect ratio of 16:10. Also, the 16-inch screen is a huge improvement over the 15.6-inch laptop, and this screen is much better than the laptop's at 1080p and 144Hz.

Anyway, the picture is crystal clear, the colors are great, and everything runs smoothly at 120Hz. I'm using it with an Asus Ally and since this monitor has two USB-C ports, you can connect one side to a power bank and the other to the mobile device and the power bank will turn on when you turn on the power (assuming your power bank has enough power - I tested it with a 65W power bank And I saw a 60-watt load).

The speakers are very good, which may be due to the poor quality of the tablet. I already knew the sound wasn't going to be great, and for watching YouTube videos or something, they were almost enough. If you're still in the 90's and using wired headphones, it does have a headphone output.

The only downside might be the screen brightness if you intend to use it in the sun. It looks great indoors and won't have any problems under normal light conditions - it's much brighter so in a dark room you might want to lower the brightness from the default setting. But in direct sunlight, I doubt it's bright enough to use - and to be fair, 95% of computer screens are.

For the price, it's a great portable monitor. For someone like me who saw portable screens years ago, these new screens are a lot, if not a whole lot better. The iPad Pro won't top it in terms of screen quality, but it easily dominates the $2,000 gaming laptop category in 2020.
