WAVLINK 2023 AX1800 WiFi 6 Internet Signal Extender Dual Band Wireless Signal Repeater Up to 1.8Gbps AP Mode Hotspot with Ethernet Port to Extend Hotspot to Home Appliances
In general, I really like this repeater. Setup is very easy because I use a standard web interface rather than an app I love. Selecting the operating mode is also easy, I can choose between repeater mode (connected via WiFi, separate SSID and subnet, with DHCP management), bridge mode (connected via WiFi, separate SSID, same subnet) and access point mode (wired connection, separate) Change SSID, same as subnet). It supports WPA2 and WPA3 bandwidth up to 80MHz in the 5GHz band. When connected via the WAN port, it can also be used as a full router, but I haven't tested this mode. It also supports network mode (and the optional transparent redundancy feature/same SSID) when used with another Wavelink router, but I don't have a network mode to test with it. Once configured, my laptop was able to establish an 802.11ax connection at 1.2Gbps and achieve transfer speeds of up to 190Mbps, which I expected given my 802.11ac home network, upstream Internet connection, and local competition. network channels. As a general rule, unless you have a separate wire uplink or radio link dedicated to your wireless connection and other devices share the same channel (for example, your neighbors), the speed will also usually be lower. . Other than that, I haven't done any really extensive productivity testing, but in terms of basic features and signal strength, it works just fine. One of the unique features of this repeater is that it has a night light built in with an ambient light sensor that turns it on and off in the dark. It's a bit of a strange feature, but it's actually very nice and makes complete sense. You can also turn it off with a switch on the side for installation in bedrooms, etc.
My only criticism of this switch is that I would have liked a 3-pin power connector instead of a 2-pin power connector. It doesn't matter if it's grounded or not, but since it's one of the heaviest repeaters I've seen in a long time, trying to plug it into a real wall outlet keeps wanting to tip over and even fall. So if you live in a home with wobbly and loose wall sockets, keep this in mind as you may need to install extension cords or do something to mount the unit to the wall.
