Setup is easy out of the box and the instructions are clear. However, after the initial successful setup, I had some connection issues between the router and modem. I had a great experience contacting technical support and dealing with the representatives. It was late at night when the issue arose and I wasn't expecting to be contacted but called a representative right away. Mike helped solve the problem but he couldn't. He was very detailed, walked me through the troubleshooting steps, and was comprehensive. I explain the next steps and arrange a call back with next level support that fits my busy schedule.
The next day, at the agreed time, the upper level of technical support was called. This time it's time. Like Mike, Ann was very knowledgeable and thorough, picking up where Mike left off and taking the time to help with issues. Even though we had to move to the next level of support, Ann explained the next steps and expected results. The follow up timeframe was 1 business day but shortly after I got a call from Michael C. We spent some time trying to fix the problem but we still can't fix it. The problem threatened to escalate again and we hung up. About 30 minutes later Michael called me and told me to try something else...and it worked. I appreciate his efforts and the fact that he took the time to resolve the issue after he hung up - he could have easily escalated the matter to the next employee but he didn't. This is extremely rare and fully reflects the professional level of TP's technical support team.
Customer service can be difficult at times, especially when it comes to customers with different technical skills, language barriers, etc. Although it takes time to solve problems, sometimes they need to be resolved and nothing can be done about them. However, throughout the process, the TP-Link support team was so determined to solve my problem that it made me feel like it was theirs.
I appreciate the time and effort of the participants because internet connectivity is as important to my work as it is to many others. Based on my experience, I will definitely buy another TP-Link product knowing that there is a solid support team ready to solve any issue. This is great value for money for me, it's definitely worth the price of the router.
