I don't know if I'm lucky, but I have an LG card and it's basically perfect. No shading (I think the last review that talked about shadows being set wrong - setting response time to level 4 would be overkill, I'd recommend setting it to level 2. Or they use a variable refresh rate which I haven't used), good color + brightness, no dead pixels, minimal backlight bleed.
The only downside I had: the Omen Gaming Hub automatically installed on your computer without prompting (I uninstalled it and it never came back). The reds are a bit saturated and difficult to control with the settings. Although this is just an older secondary monitor from Dell, it looks a little gray and washed out in comparison.
Otherwise, it's 100% recommended for anyone looking for a 1440p IPS high refresh rate monitor for $200 or more and doesn't suffer from the horrible black spots of cheaper high refresh rate VA panels (you've never seen a monitor like this without a VA panel for $200 or more). Also, fully height-adjustable tripods aren't usually found in this price range. So I'm a little skeptical about buying it for only $200.
I didn't have high expectations given the brand and the price, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Update: I've tried Freesync and it works better than the old monitor's Gsync module. There are some very light shades, but you really have to look around to notice them.
