First of all, I personally like the picture quality of this screen, especially the refresh rate. Although it's only 1080p, the 120Hz refresh rate makes a difference. And it's not a huge screen, 4K for example is overrated for that size. I don't know if my picture is correct, but it's a nice background image.
Battery life seems pretty good to me. It is strange to have a screen with its own battery. I mean it improves portability, that's for sure. But it's something you'll need to charge at some point, so you can't leave it anywhere for long periods of time without electricity. Either way, it's nice to be able to detach that screen, connect it to something like a laptop or game console, and have video output on the go.
There's also an audio input (via mini-HDMI or USB-C), a speaker, and a volume rocker. This is amazing.
It's a little questionable, but I hope it has a decent VESA mounting solution, especially considering the price. It doesn't even have holes in the back, but works well with VESA adapters for large tablets. But if I'm going to use the touch screen a lot, I wouldn't trust this VESA adapter because it's friction-only fit.
The touch screen is very good. I wouldn't say it beats a tablet or convertible laptop screen. Which is a bit strange considering the price. One would think that this would be less elegant. However, that may not be fair to me. One thing to note is that this is a slightly strange setup for a touch screen. Don't expect to use it as a second screen and touch screen. Because it basically uses a separate USB cable to appear as a mouse.
Here's a way to do that. But as a touchscreen, it only really works if that's the only screen you're using. Or at least the primary monitor. Because touch moves the mouse, which may not be exactly what you expect.
Maybe I'm wrong, but there's something else about this screen that bothers me. I wouldn't call them market breakers, but they certainly didn't get me thinking. First, doesn't it look like it has a sleep/stop mode? At least it didn't work for me. I connect to my computer via mini hdmi and when i turn off the computer the screen stays on. With no login screen. It didn't seem to shut down automatically. It's a bit annoying because you have to turn off the screen every time you turn off your computer. Others may have different experiences, perhaps with USB-C, but this is mine.
Also, I can't seem to find a way to access the OSD. I don't think this has a screen, nor does the manual mention it at all. I can only adjust the volume and brightness using the side buttons. Yes, the picture is good. But sometimes I want to be a little pedantic and smooth. I could do that with much cheaper screens, so of course I expected that.
Also, it is better to use full size HDMI instead of mini HDMI. But at least a mini HDMI cable is included.
Overall, I'd give it four stars because there's no doubt that it's really good in terms of image quality and refresh rate, and it has plenty of features available (eg battery and touch screen). When you look at it as a whole, it's just an inconsistent unit. Especially considering the price.
