ChatGPT for iPhone is very popular and many users depend on this app for its powerful features. It answers all your questions in an easy to understand manner and gives suggestions and ideas on various topics and much more. However, sometimes the app stops working due to various reasons.
If you are having issues with ChatGPT crashing on iPhone, here are some easy ways to fix it:
1- Check if your phone is connected to the Internet:
For ChatGPT to work properly on iPhone, your phone must be connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi or mobile data. If you do not have an internet connection, your application will not be submitted or processed.
If you are not sure if your phone is connected to the Internet, open the app again and check if there is a banner at the top of the screen that says "There is a problem with your Internet connection". Or you can try launching another web app or opening a link in Safari.
If you have an internet connection but the app isn't working, you can try reconnecting to the network by re-entering your Wi-Fi password or turning Cellular Data off and then on again in Control Center.
2- Make sure all permissions are enabled:
ChatGPT requests your permission to access certain tools on your iPhone for optimal performance. For example, if the voice input feature is not working, it may be because you have not allowed the app to access the microphone.
To ensure that all permissions are enabled, follow the steps below:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down until you find ChatGPT in the list of apps and tap on it.
- Turn on the microphone, mobile data, and all the options in the Siri and Search section.
3- Make sure your iPhone has enough storage:
When your iPhone storage is full, the phone tends to lag when performing certain tasks and can become slower, which affects the functioning of apps and phone features, including the ChatGPT app.
To restore optimum performance of your apps, try to free up storage space by deleting unnecessary apps or rid your iPhone of some unnecessary photos and content.
4- Disconnect the VPN connection:
VPNs help keep your online data private, but they can affect your server connection. Many applications struggle to maintain a stable connection or sync data with a VPN, especially when the service is slow, and ChatGPT could be one of them.
If you find that the app does not work when connected to a VPN, please disconnect from the VPN or use a different one.
5- Update the ChatGPT app:
As with all devices and apps, updates can fix some bugs and issues that users encounter. Therefore, it is very important to keep your operating system and apps up to date. To check if ChatGPT is up to date, do the following:
- Open the App Store and search for ChatGPT.
- The blue button next to the app's name will display the word "Update" if an update is available, or the word "Open" if no update is available.
