Meta launched Thread last Thursday and saw a massive increase in new users within 48 hours of going live, making it the fastest growing app in the world.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced yesterday on Thread that the number of users has reached 70 million, describing it as "exceeding expectations."
But based on the number of badges shown on Instagram accounts (which indicates a new person has joined the Threads app), there are currently more than 95 million accounts on the app and 100 million is expected to be reached in the next few hours.
when that happens; This app will be the fastest app to reach 100 million users since ChatGPT reached 100 million users in two months, TikTok reached 100 million users in nine months, and Instagram itself reached 100 million users in six months in two years.
However, the application (threads) lacks many features; Despite such a strong launch, Meta didn't expect such a strong demand for the app and promised new features soon.
Since the application (threads) is directly linked to your Instagram account, you can use your Instagram account to create an account and transfer your list of followers to Instagram, so that, among other things, you will be constantly notified of new subscribers regardless. From the notifications, this can be making using the app very stressful. However, you can turn off all notifications or adjust them via settings to use the app without interruption.
To customize notifications in the new Threads app:
- Go to the Threads app on your phone.
- Click on your account icon in the bottom right.
- Click on the Settings menu icon at the top right.

- You can turn off all notifications by tapping on the “Turn off all” option, and you can customize notifications for likes, replies, retweets, and followers using the options under the snooze option.
- When you press the option (sleep all) to put all in doze mode; You'll see options for the duration of the snooze app's notifications, which range from 15 minutes to 8 hours. Choose the option that suits you best.
- To customize notifications for likes, replies, and tweets, click on the (topics and replies) option. There you can set notifications to show notifications from everyone or people you follow, or turn them off entirely.
- Stop getting notifications when someone follows you back. Click on the Followers and Followers option.
- Under the New Followers option, choose Off and from there you can also turn off notifications to accept add requests and account suggestions.
