Easy ways to improve iPhone performance

iPhone is equipped with a stable and fast iOS operating system, combined with a powerful Apple processor, combined with a high-quality camera and a slim design. These features make it a favorite of many people and an ideal companion for everyday use. However, as iPhones are increasingly used for work, study, and entertainment tasks, the phone may slow down over time due to frequent app installation, photo taking, and file storage.

So, in this article, we are discussing a number of simple yet effective ways to improve iPhone performance that you can try to enjoy a better user experience:

1- Keep your iPhone operating system up to date:

iOS updates include fixes for all issues that users encountered in previous updates and aim to eliminate potential security risks and improve the efficiency of using the phone. So when a new update is available, the iPhone operating system needs to be updated.

To update the operating system on your iPhone, all you have to do is go to the Settings app, then General, then Software Update. If a new version of iOS is available, you will see an option to Download and Install or Install Now.

2- Delete unnecessary applications:

Installing a lot of apps or taking a lot of photos can quickly fill up the storage space on your iPhone and you may experience noticeable delays in performing certain tasks. So it is important to remove unnecessary apps and duplicate images to make sure that your phone does not have other files that take up storage space and slow down performance.

3- Disable location services:

Many apps keep accessing your location even when you're not using it, which can drain your battery and tax your phone. To turn off location services or change settings for specific apps that use location services, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Settings app and select Privacy and Security.
  2. Click on the Location Services option.
  3. To turn it off completely, turn off the Location Services option at the top.
  4. To change the settings for a specific app, scroll down and select the app. Once you click on it, you can allow it to access the location or turn off the Precise Location option.

4- Close unused applications:

When you browse through many apps, they keep running in the background and eating up your iPhone's RAM.

These apps will not close when the iPhone screen is locked and can run all night if you don't close them properly when you fall asleep. However, you can easily close the home screen by swiping up. This will display all background apps. If you swipe up each app's screen, it closes. If you don't want to close each app separately, just restart your iPhone and all apps will be closed.

5- Disable the background app refresh feature:

Background App Refresh is a feature that allows your iPhone to refresh app content in the background even if you are not using the app or have not used it for a while. Since this feature consumes some system resources, disabling it can be useful if improving performance is your top priority.

To disable this feature:

  1. Go to the Settings app and select General.
  2. Click on the option to refresh the background app.
  3. Disable it for all the apps you want.
