Chrome is the most used web browser in the world. It holds over 62% of the web browser market share across all operating systems. Therefore, Google continues to add many new features to provide users with a better and smoother browsing experience and to help them perform certain tasks more easily.
A couple of days ago, Google introduced a number of new features for the Chrome browser on iPhone and iPad tablets, allowing for better integration of the browser with other company applications and services, such as maps, calendar, translation, and Google Lens. These features open up new possibilities for iPhone users to use Chrome apps, as we explain below:
1- Display headers within a web page:
When you see an address in Chrome on iPhone, you no longer have to switch apps to find it on Google Maps. Since the Chrome app now uses artificial intelligence to recognize addresses on webpages, a long press on an address will bring up an option to display it directly in a small version of Google Maps. in Chrome instead of going to a separate Maps app or searching for an address.
2- Create events in Google Calendar directly from the Chrome app:
Users of the Chrome app on iPhone can now create events and add them to Google Calendar directly from the Chrome app without manually switching between apps or duplicating information.
Now that the browser can automatically detect dates and appointments, all you have to do is long-press on the date and then select the Add to Google Calendar option. The Chrome app will automatically create an event on your calendar and add important details about its information. event, eg: time and place.
3- Get better translations:
Chrome's ability to detect the language of web pages and suggest translations has improved as Google's artificial intelligence models have improved. Let's say you're planning to visit a museum in Italy, but the site is in Italian, a language you don't speak. Chrome automatically translates the museum's website into the language of your choice.
You can also use Google Translate directly in Chrome on your iPhone to translate specific parts of a page. Simply select the text you want to translate, long press on it and select (Google Translate) from Google to translate without leaving the browser app to convert to the language you want.
4- Search by phone camera:
With Google Lens, you can use Images to search for similar and additional images online. The tool allows you to detect plants, search for products, recognize and translate text in images, even help diagnose skin conditions, and more.
You can now use Lens in the Chrome app on iPhone by long-pressing an image while browsing a website and selecting Google on an image to get similar images and more information about that image. Over the next few months, you'll also be able to use your phone's camera to browse through new photos you've taken, as well as the ones in your phone's gallery.
