The easy ways to customize the Google Assistant

Google Assistant can help you with many everyday tasks and make many areas of your life easier. With it, you can order text messages to be created and sent to your selected contacts without having to hold your phone. You can also use it to perform actions on some of the apps you use most frequently. Many Android phone users rely on knowing the weather every morning and reminding them of daily tasks - all with just voice commands.

Since the voice assistant can help with many tasks and many users rely on it, Google is constantly developing it and adding more features to personalize its experience. Here are some easy ways to customize Google Assistant to your liking:

1- Choose a specific voice for the voice assistant:

In addition to the 29 languages offered by Google Assistant, you can choose from a variety of speaking styles. About two weeks ago, Google added two new styles to its collection of American English pronunciations to add more variety to the existing options. In addition, you can quickly change your voice by simply saying: (Hey Google, change your voice).

2- Parameters (Voice Match) to identify your voice more easily:

Voice Match allows voice assistants to recognize your voice, which is especially useful for home sharing devices. With this feature, when you say "Hey Google" to your phone, the Assistant can verify that you're talking to it.

Configure this feature on your phone. You can follow these steps:

  • Go to the (Google) application on your phone.
  • Click on your account picture at the top right and then click on the Settings option.
  • Click Options (Hey Google and Voice Match).
  • Click the switch next to it to turn on the "Hey Google" option.

To set up this feature on connected devices that support Google Assistant, such as on headphones and smart displays, say: (Hey Google, set up Voice Match). Your audio files are only stored on the device on which you have enabled this feature, but may be temporarily sent to Google servers to allow the Google Assistant to identify you.

3. Get personalized responses:

Once Voice Match is set up, your assistant can provide more personalized responses. For example, it can notify you about upcoming events listed in Google Calendar and stream music from your favorite streaming service.

Here are some voice commands that you can set up and try on your own:

  • Hey Google, set my playlist.
  • Hey Google, call my mom.
  • Hey Google, show me my diary.
