While this is much cheaper than branded tablets, there are many "unbranded" Chinese tablets that cost close to it (currently $49). So I am comparing this tablet to similar tablets, not to branded ones. In this group it is nice that the cost of the tablet is small, given the equipment.
Everything I've tested works. Display, WiFi, Bluetooth, On-screen keyboard, Charging, USB connection to PC, Camera (front and back mode, photo and movie mode), etc.
Of the 3 GB of RAM, 1.3 GB can be used to run more applications, which makes sense after loading the basic operating system (some tablets have only 2 GB, which does not leave enough space to run other applications). 7.5GB of storage is used, leaving 57GB for photos, movies, and other user data. It is sufficient for my needs.
Performance is well below average, but that's to be expected for a tablet this cheap. For example, the screen resolution is low, the colors are muted, the screen response is slow, and even the WiFi performance is only 1/3 of that of the old phone. Scrolling online is a bit "choppy". This can be due to insufficient screen processing power and/or poor WiFi performance. The speakers aren't great (but using the headphone jack or bluetooth to connect to external speakers or headphones works just fine).
The description says watching videos can take up to 8 hours, but "even" is a marketing word here. In my testing, I got about four hours of mixed use, including watching movies (from files on the device), watching YouTube, reading messages in Google Chrome, playing with a calculator, and more.
It is therefore an excellent machine for a young child, and the financial loss if he spoils it is at least minimal. For adults, their needs should be limited. I wouldn't recommend it as an all-around adult device unless price really matters and you have the patience (and there's no good tablet to compare).
