Dell Inspiron 14 5425 14" i5425-A027GRE-PUS Laptop - FHD+ (1920 x 1200) Display, AMD Ryzen7 5825U, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB SSD, AMD Radeon Graphics, USB-C, HDMI, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6. Windows 11 Pro
My Dell Inspiron laptop was delivered safely to my door in a double layered box. It is ready to use right out of the box. Setup is easy by following the onscreen instructions.
summary:
The laptop is powered by the powerful AMD Ryzen7 processor. It's lightweight, compact and stylish, with a 14-inch screen and sleek design. It comes with 8GB of RAM (expandable up to 16GB) and 512GB SSD for storage. It features 3 USB ports (2 Type A ports and 2 USB ports). Type 1C). There is also a media card reader, an audio jack, and an HDMI port. (There is no ethernet port.) There are two built-in microphones, background noise cancellation, and upgraded speakers. The built-in camera provides the privacy of the backlit keyboard.
Your laptop needs some Windows 11 Pro updates before it's ready to use. After the update completed, I was prompted to sign into my Microsoft account to start setup. Even though I have a Microsoft account, I don't want to use it every time I sign in. Since this is not a review of Windows 11, I can say that there is a workaround. Just google it and you will find instructions on how to set up a local account without using your Microsoft account.
I've been using this laptop for a week and it has lived up to my expectations. It's a complete machine that can do almost everything I need. I don't use it for gaming, so I can't test it, but it's fine for browsing websites on the Internet, paying bills, writing documents (like Google Office), and playing videos; everyday things. My husband uses it to do chores around the house. It's fast and responsive and we all love it.
a screen:
The screen is bright and the colors are good. You don't need to make any modifications. The screen area of 16:10 is slightly larger than Dell's old 14-inch monitor. The bezels are slimmer to make the most of the available screen space. The maximum screen resolution is 1920 x 1200, which is more than enough for using apps, the web, and watching videos. The only thing missing is a touch screen.
keyboard:
The keyboard is comfortable to hold and feels good in the hand. The backlit keyboard is a big plus for me. Easy to see in low light when using your laptop at night.
The device has a large touchpad. I found it difficult and frustrating to navigate no matter how long I used it. Maybe it's just me. I am not a concrete person. When I need to be more productive, I use my mouse. If I don't have a mouse, I want a touchscreen, which this laptop doesn't have.
voice:
The sound from the built-in speakers is good and much clearer than I expected. The laptop has two built-in microphones and noise cancellation (I haven't tested it yet. Will update when I test it.)
Perfomance:
Getting started is fast. The laptop runs quietly with no fan noise. Heat didn't seem to be an issue. However, I do use the stand when my laptop is on a desk so that there is good ventilation. Strong WiFi connection. (One of my old Dell laptops would randomly disconnect, which was very annoying, but it seems to have fixed it.)
finally:
There's a lot to like about this laptop. It is ideal for those who are looking for an affordable laptop computer that is rich in features. It can be a desktop replacement for me after adding more memory.
