At the annual WWDC 2023 developer conference, Apple introduced a new model of the MacBook Air computer, the 15-inch MacBook Air computer. For years, MacBook Air models were limited to 13 inches, and Apple improved the processors in this line and began using its own M processors, greatly increasing the capabilities of these machines.
Now that it's launched the 15-inch MacBook Air, you're probably wondering how it differs from the previous 13-inch model, other than the larger screen size. Here is our full review of the 15-inch MacBook Air, showing all the specifications and features of this computer:
design:
Apple updated the design of the MacBook Air last year to match the design of the MacBook Pro line, but with a lighter weight, and adopted the same design for the new 15-inch MacBook Air, with a slight increase in length and height. It only increased by 0.01 inch, which means it's still slim. Identical to the previous version.
The calculator measures 34.04 x 23.76 x 1.15 cm and weighs just one and a half kilograms, making it one of the lightest laptops you can buy. Apple also claims that it is the world's thinnest 15-inch laptop.
screen:
The new MacBook Air computer features a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina LED display with a resolution of 2880 x 1864 pixels and a brightness of 500 cd / m².
And if you compare these specifications with the screen specifications of the previous model, the 13-inch MacBook Air, you will see that the difference is in size and resolution, as the previous generation model had a 13-inch, 6-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1664 pixels, no change in the type of screen and its brightness.
Power, battery and charging:
The new MacBook Air is powered by an eight-core processor (Apple M2) that includes a ten-core graphics processing unit (GPU) and a 16-core Neural Engine. The specifications are the same as those of the 13-inch MacBook Air, the only difference being the additional option of an eight-core graphics processor in the previous model.
Apple claims the device is 12 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air and 1.4 times faster than the M1-based MacBook Air.
The computer has an 18-hour battery that can be charged via USB-C or MagSafe. The computer supports fast charging that can reach 50% in 35 minutes.
It offers three RAM options: 8GB, 16GB, or 24GB, and four internal storage options: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB.
Other properties:
The 15-inch MacBook Air has two USB-C and Thunderbolt ports, as well as a MagSafe charging port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
This computer has an audio system consisting of 6 external speakers that support surround sound technology and Dolby Atmos. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 and has a 1080p webcam.
price:
The 15-inch MacBook Air M2 can be ordered online from the official Apple Store starting at $1,299 and will be available in June at official Apple stores and authorized retailers worldwide. It is available in four different colors: Night Black, Silver, Space Gray, and Star White.
