iPhone has many built-in features that can help you improve your health and lifestyle without installing third-party apps. It includes, among other things, a feature to help you spend less time on the phone, a host of features to improve the quality of your sleep, as well as a feature to remind you to take your medications and supplements. We will discuss below:
1- Screen Time feature to reduce the time you use your iPhone:
If you spend a lot of time on your iPhone playing games or watching short videos on TikTok and YouTube, you might want to set some limits because phone addiction is an unhealthy habit that can negatively affect your life and relationships.
To help you spend less time on your iPhone, Apple has added a built-in iOS feature called Screen Time, which lets you track the average amount of time you use your iPhone per day and week.
In addition to tracking the time you spend using certain apps, it also makes it easy to see which apps you use the most and set time limits for using them.
To access the Screen Time feature, go to the Settings app and select Screen Time. There you will find useful tools that will make you use your phone less. These include a downtime tool to set specific times to stop using your iPhone, and an app limits tool to set daily limits for using certain apps.
2- sleep concentration mode, improve sleep quality:
Most people need seven to nine hours of sleep each night, but it's hard to tell. Instead of customizing notifications for each app, you can follow the steps below to configure the Sleep Focus feature. To help you sleep better and boost your health:
- Go to the Settings app and select Focus.
- Select (standby mode) sleep focus mode or click the (+) button in the upper-right corner of the screen to add sleep focus mode if it is not already present. You can customize your sleep focus on this page by allowing notifications from specific people and apps when the feature is turned on.
However, if you want to set a regular sleep schedule, go to the Health app, tap the "Browse" tab in the lower right corner of the screen, and select "Sleep." Then, in the Your Schedule section, tap Sleep schedule to customize a recurring sleep schedule. Example: You can create a specific sleep schedule for weekdays and a different sleep schedule for weekends.
3- Features of tracking medications and nutritional supplements:
Medications is a feature of the Health app that allows you to keep track of your medications or supplements using your iPhone. This is useful if you frequently forget to take your medication or need to take several medications at the same time. With this feature, you can easily set up medication reminders with just a few clicks and get notified when it's time to take your medication.
To use this function, do the following:
- Go to the Health app and tap Browse on the bottom left.
- Select a medication and click Add Medication.
- Search for a property name or enter a property name manually.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to choose the type of medication, additives, and other details.
4- Night mode to improve sleep quality:
iPhones and other blue light-emitting devices, such as tablets, computers, or televisions, can negatively affect the quality and quantity of your sleep. In fact, prolonged exposure to blue light from these devices affects the production of melatonin, which is responsible for regulating sleep.
However, there may be times when you need to use your phone before bed and you can focus on mitigating the effects of blue light by enabling Night Shift mode, which adjusts the brightness of the colors on your iPhone screen, making them warmer. This makes it easier to relax and get ready for bed.
To enable Night Shift on your iPhone, go to Settings, then Display & Brightness, then enable Night Shift and set a date for it to turn on automatically every day.
5- The background noise feature to help you focus or relax:
The background noise feature can help you focus or relax because it provides natural sounds such as rain or sea waves that block out other unwanted sounds around you.
You can enable background sounds on your iPhone by following these steps:
- Go to the Settings app, then select Accessibility.
- Select (Audio/Visual), then (Background Sound).
- Activate the "Background Sound" option and the sound will be played directly.
- Click on the "Sound" option to choose from other available sounds, for example eg: (balanced noise), (ambient), (rain), etc.
