How do you use LinkedIn advanced search tools?

LinkedIn is one of the best platforms for finding jobs and connecting with professionals and companies. The platform includes advanced search tools that can help you get more accurate search results and save you a lot of time and effort. Below we explain how to use these tools:

What is advanced search on LinkedIn?

Advanced Search is not a dedicated tool, it is the use of certain options and filters when searching on LinkedIn to find what you are looking for more efficiently.

Whether you are looking for a job or want to join a specific group or community on LinkedIn, you can access the best options out there. When doing an advanced search, just remember the right keywords and filters.

To use the advanced search tool on LinkedIn:

Here are 5 ways to perform an advanced search on LinkedIn to get more specific results:

1- Enter specific and appropriate search terms:

Go to the LinkedIn search box and enter the name of the career you're interested in. Then press ENTER. You will be taken to a new page with a jumble of results related to the search term you entered. These results also include people, groups, jobs, and courses. To get the right results, focus on choosing appropriate and specific search terms that refer to the job you are looking for.

2- Choose a filter for the search results:

Your search results will be displayed in multiple categories: Jobs, People, Postings, Groups, Courses, Events, Products, Companies, Schools, and Services. You can select a specific category by clicking on its tab. You will then be taken to another page with more results for that category.

Additionally, you'll find an "All Filters" button, which allows you to apply additional filters for more detailed results.

3- Use all filter tool:

All filters give you different options depending on which page you're on and allow you to add additional filters to your search results for that category.

Example: Suppose you are searching for graphic design jobs and you select a job category. Click the All Filters button and enable the advanced search filter for more specific results. The All Filter tool gives you multiple options to filter the results including: (location), (company name), (date of job posting), job type, remote or not (onsite/remote), etc.

Once you've added your desired filters, click the View Results button and you'll be taken to a page with more accurate search results.

4- Use the filter in the category:

In addition to all the useful filter tools, you'll find additional search options on each category page. For example, if you click on the Company tab, you can select the specific location, company size and industry you are looking for. These options appear at the top of business search results.

On the other hand, the job page has its own advanced search filters, including posting date, experience level, salary, and usability.

5- Enter your search term:

You can make your search term as specific as possible by including "not", "or", and "and" in parentheses to ensure that you get the best results that match your search term.
