Since Microsoft launched its chatbot, Bing Chatbot, about three months ago, the company has promised to improve it over time.
About two weeks ago, Microsoft announced the lifting of chatbot access restrictions and also announced new features for Bing Chat in the coming period that will make the bot better than before.
Here are five of the most notable new features:
1- Access the chat history:
Microsoft provides an option to access the chat history of Bing chat bots. This means that if you close the chatbot and come back at a different time, you can continue the previous conversation.
2- Merge external plugins:
In the near future, Microsoft will allow third-party extensions to integrate with Bing Chat to facilitate other tasks with the bot, such as: booking flights, checking into hotel rooms, online shopping, restaurant reservations, etc.
3- Give answers with pictures and diagrams:
Microsoft has improved Bing chat bots to provide more visual responses, including videos, images, charts, and graphs. However, the bot does not provide pictures every time you ask a question, and in most cases you have to ask for pictures.
On the other hand, you can now ask the bot to generate images in more than 100 languages. You can also use Bing Image Creator to create unique AI images using tools like DALL-E and Midjourney.
4- Browsing the Internet using a robot:
If you are using the Edge browser, you can browse different websites while using the Bing chat bot in the sidebar. You can read the information on the website while asking a question on the chatbot.
In addition, you can choose any text on the site if you want the bot to give you further explanations on the topic. Microsoft also said that Bing will soon have the ability to summarize long web pages and PDFs.
5- Collaboration function:
Microsoft will add collaboration features to Bing chat bots. This includes export and share options if you want to collaborate with friends or colleagues.
You can use the Add to Website button at the bottom of the Bing Chatbot Compose tab to copy chat content directly into Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or another web page.
