Apple continues to improve the voice assistant (Siri) Siri, with simple voice commands in the iPhone, you can perform many tasks without having to hold the phone, and this thing is useful in many situations, for example: driving, sports, and busy housework in the office and other people.
The Siri voice assistant has many hidden features that many iPhone users may not know, and we will mention the most important of them below:
1- Find the lost iPhone owner:
If you find an iPhone and don't know who owns it, you can ask Siri: Hey Siri, who owns this iPhone? If the phone owner selects a direct contact, a contact card will appear on the screen with the name and the option to place a call.
The success of this method depends on the phone owner's settings for Siri voice assistant, as they cannot disable access to Siri from the lock screen.
You can also try to use common words that you might add to your contacts, such as for example: home, work, wife, etc. Ask to call one of the contacts on your lost phone, for example say: (Hey Siri, call home).
2- Select contacts:
Siri doesn't understand some names very well, especially long ones, so it's a good idea to star some of your contacts so you can talk to them more easily.
To tag specific contacts, follow these steps:
- For example, say: Hi Siri, Jasmine is my wife.
- A warning message will pop up: Well, do you want me to remember that Jasmine is your wife? (Well, do I remember that Jasmine is your wife?).
- Click Yes.
- Then you can easily ask Siri to call your wife by saying: Hey Siri, call my wife.
3- Change iPhone settings using Siri:
You can easily change and access most iPhone settings using Siri without having to go into the Settings app and search for the setting you want to change.
Try the following voice commands to change some settings with Siri:
- Hey Siri, turn on dark mode.
- Hey Siri, turn on Airplane mode.
- Hey Siri, turn off power saving mode.
4- Select your current location:
If you're driving in a new area, don't know the name of the street you're on, and don't want to use your phone to access a maps app so you don't get distracted while driving, you can do that by saying: Hey Siri, where am I? Use Siri and she'll tell you the name of the street you're on.
5- Add notes to the Notes app:
Siri, the voice assistant, can use simple voice commands to add items to lists you've made or add text to notes in the Notes app. This is especially useful when you are too busy with something like driving or playing sports to hold your phone and want to take a specific note.
The voice assistant can make mistakes as you type, but you can schedule notes or reminders for later.
6- Find your car:
If you use Apple CarPlay, your iPhone can record where you parked your car for easy access. When the iPhone detects that the connection to the car has been lost, it will remember the last connection from the phone to the car, so you can easily get back. Where did you park the car?
