This feature is disabled by default on all phones; Therefore, it must be manually activated in order to be able to call and send messages on Wi-Fi. You can do that by following these steps:
- Go to Settings on your iPhone.
- Click on the Cellular option.
- Tap the Wi-Fi Calling option and then tap the toggle next to it to enable Wi-Fi Calling on this iPhone.
- You may need to enter or confirm your emergency service address.
- If Wi-Fi calling is available, you will see Wi-Fi in the status bar when viewing Control Center. Then the phone connects via Wi-Fi.
Note: If cellular service is available, the iPhone will use it for emergency calls. If you have Wi-Fi calling turned on and the cellular network is not available, your iPhone will use it for emergency calls. Your phone's location can be used to answer an emergency call, with or without location services enabled.

- Go to Settings on your iPhone.

- When the Allow calls on other devices option is turned on, you will see a list of eligible connected devices. Enable the feature for each device by clicking the toggle next to it.
Next, make sure that your other device is receiving calls from your iPhone by going to the iPad Settings, tap on the FaceTime option and then turn on the Calls from iPhone option.
Note: Wi-Fi calling is automatically turned on on your Apple Watch when (Allow calls from other devices) is turned on.
