Samsung uses many new technologies in Galaxy phones to give them unique features such as: Vision Enhancer. With the release of the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung has integrated this feature to improve the phone's screen visibility in bright light. What is the enhanced visibility feature and how do I enable it?
What is the Visual Booster feature?
Vision Booster is a feature on newer Samsung phones such as the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 series phones, as well as the Samsung Galaxy A54 released two weeks ago, that automatically boosts the phone's screen brightness when adaptive brightness is enabled. , when a very bright light is detected around the phone's sensors.
Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra's screen brightness increases to 1,750 nits with Vision Booster enabled, compared to 1,500 nits on other models.
Vision Enhancement not only increases brightness, but also reduces contrast and adjusts screen color, resulting in a clearer picture that's easier to see in bright sunlight, even in dark mode.
By reducing contrast and adjusting color tone, you can reduce battery consumption. Therefore, this feature can improve visibility of items on your phone screen while also extending battery life in direct sunlight.
How to activate the Vision Booster feature
Visibility improvement works automatically when the phone's light sensor detects sunlight, but adaptive brightness must be enabled first. To do this, follow these steps:
- Unlock your phone and swipe down twice from the top of the screen to reveal the status bar, which displays the time, battery status, and other icons.
- Click the three dots button to the right of the brightness slider.
- Enable the Adaptive Brightness option.
With Adaptive Brightness turned on, Vision Booster automatically turns on when exposed to direct sunlight, making items on your phone's screen more visible. Keep in mind that this feature only works when the phone detects a very bright light, and you cannot use it all the time.
