Whether you are a student of a school, college, or university, you may consider buying a Macbook computer for your studies because these computers are very popular among students for several reasons including their ease of use, powerful performance, and compatibility with other Apple devices.
While many students use MacBook computers for their studies, not many students know how to use all the features that are included in these computers to increase their productivity. Therefore, we offer the following five tips to help students who use MacBook computers learn how to increase their focus and be more productive:
1- Use widgets to make the app easier to access:
Widgets are one of the best features on MacBook computers because they give you quick access to the apps you use most. To use this feature while studying, add widgets to the app to make some common tasks easier for you. For example, add a Notes widget so you can easily jot down ideas or quickly add links to useful articles.
Follow these steps to add widgets on your Macbook:
- Click the date and time button in the upper-right corner and select Edit widget.
- Click the (+) sign next to the widget you want to add.
- Click Finish.
2- Use focus mode:
You can use focus mode to reduce distractions while studying on your Mac computer. If you set focus mode, you can control which apps you want to get notification reminders for and set a schedule. If you use the computer to study at a certain time every day, you want focus mode to turn on automatically, and you don't need to manually turn focus mode on and off every day.
Follow the steps below to set up convenient study focus mode on your Mac computer:
- Go to (System Preferences) and select (Debug).
- Click the Add focus option.
- Click the Customize option, add a name for the focus mode, and then click the OK button.
- Start customizing focus mode by choosing which apps you want to receive notifications when focus mode is on.
3- Use the Reminders app and Apple Calendar:
Time management is important to learning about productivity, and some of the apps available on Mac computers can help simplify the time management process, such as Time Management. For example: (Apple Calendar) and (Reminders).
You can use Apple Calendar to keep track of your conference and seminar dates. Reminders lets you create a series of to-do lists that you can go through and add due dates for each task.
4- Use screen time:
If you have been using your Mac computer to study for a long time and still find yourself not being productive and not completing all the tasks required of you, you can use the Screen Time feature to see how much time you spend in real time with learning and time spent browsing social media apps while using the computer.
Screen Time shows how much time you spend on your computer and which apps you use most often. You can use these stats to streamline your schedule and use app and website blockers to reduce distractions if needed.
To enable the Screen Time feature, go to (System Preferences) and enable the Screen Time option.
5- Save the site in Safari:
Bookmark websites you use frequently while you study for easy access from Safari. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open Safari on your Macbook and go to the website you want to bookmark.
- Click the Share icon and select (Add to Bookmarks).
- You can access bookmarked websites by clicking on the (Bookmarks) option that appears in the sidebar of the Safari browser.
