Apple Maps is the official maps app for Apple devices and comes pre-installed on iPhone and iPad. This app has many features to help you plan your trip and explore specific cities by providing you with 3D maps of the city's main tourist attractions. You can also use the Maps app to find where you parked your car and many other useful features, the main ones of which are mentioned below. :
1- The function of the group:
If you're planning a trip with friends or family, Apple Maps can help you organize your trip with Favorites, a feature that lets you collect all the places you want to visit in one place and share them with your friends, family, or friends.
You can use this feature by following these steps:
- Find a specific place in the city that you want to visit, eg a museum or tourist attraction.
- Scroll down to the Guide button and click on it.
- Click on the New Directory option, name the group and click the Create button in the upper right corner.
- You can then add other sites to the same group.
- To access the group at any time, open the search menu and scroll down to the My Guides section where you will find all the groups you have created.
2- Nearby function to search for nearby places:
You can use Apple Maps to find places near you, whether you're traveling to a new city or your current city, using the Nearby feature, which you can use by following these steps:
- At the bottom of the Maps app, tap the search bar.
- Scroll down until you get to the Find Nearby Places section where you will find many options such as: B: Restaurants, Gas Stations, Parking, etc. Click on any option to find the closest place to your location.
3- Function to find where you parked your car:
It can be difficult to find a place to park your car, especially when you're in a large parking lot. But Apple Maps can help you locate your car, but your phone must be connected to CarPlay or Bluetooth in the car, so follow these steps:
- Go to (Settings), (Privacy), then (Location Services) and make sure that Location Services are enabled.
- On the same page, scroll down, then select System Services and enable the Places of Interest option. You may need to enter your passcode, Touch ID, or Face ID during this step.
- Go back to the main Settings menu and go to Maps and then enable the Show car park location option.
- To find out where your car is parked, open the Maps app, tap on the search bar and select Parked Cars. The location of your vehicle is shown on the map and you can follow the instructions if needed.
4- Hover function:
When planning a trip to a new city, you can explore the sights of the city before visiting it using the Skybridge feature, which provides a 3D view of specific cities around the world and allows you to explore them.
To use this feature, open the Maps app, select the city you want to view, and tap the scroll button in the context menu. Then click on Star Tour in the bottom menu to start a virtual tour of the city's attractions.
5- Benefits of integrating third-party applications:
Apple Maps allows integration with third-party app extensions to access those apps' features without leaving the Maps app.
Currently, this feature is limited to ride-sharing apps like Uber or Yelp. You can enable this feature by going to the Settings app, then selecting Maps and scrolling down to the Extras section where you will find options for the apps installed on your phone that support the extension feature. Click on the name of the app you want to add to the app card.
