Apple AirPods Wireless Earbuds are one of the best wireless earphones because of their many features like unique design, wearing comfort, sound quality, clarity, and many more. Although they work perfectly in most situations, AirPods users may encounter some issues while using them.
In this article, we list five of the most common AirPod problems and explain how to fix them:
1- AirPods cannot connect to iPhone:
If you can't connect your AirPods to your iPhone, put them back in the case, wait 15 seconds, then take them out and try connecting again. If the problem persists, try the following solutions:
- Restart bluetooth.
- Restart your iPhone.
- Reset the AirPods by placing the earbuds back in the case, then press and hold the setup button on the case for 15 seconds until the LED light blinks; Then turn on the case and try to pair the headphones with your phone again.
2- Only one helmet works:
If you are listening to an audio clip and find that the sound is coming from only one speaker, try the following solutions:
- Charging the earphones: Put the AirPods into the charging case, and fully charge the charging case and earphones.
- Cleaning the earbuds: If the same issue persists after charging the earbuds, there may be something stuck with the AirPods or the charging case itself that is not ringing. So clean the bottom of the speaker and the inside of the charging case with a cotton swab.
If the previous methods did not fix the problem, you may need to change your iPhone speaker settings. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to (Settings) and select (Accessibility).
- Click on the (Audio / Video) option and set the option indicator (Balance) in the middle.
3- AirPods stop working normally:
AirPods have proximity sensors that detect when you put them in or take them out of your ears, which automatically play or pause audio based on the position of the earbuds (whether they're in your ears or not). ). If you are having trouble stopping the sound when the headphones are in your ears, there may be a problem with the sensor.
In this case, you can turn off automatic ear detection in the AirPods settings by following these steps:
- Open the Settings app and select Bluetooth.
- Click the letter (i) button next to the AirPods icon.
- Disable automatic ear detection.
This reduces battery life as the earbuds draw the same amount of power whether you're wearing them or not, but they won't turn off while they're in your ears.
4- The AirPods battery drains quickly:
Disabling automatic ear detection will help with some issues, but as mentioned, it will drain the headphone's battery. Therefore, you can extend the battery life of your AirPods by enabling automatic ear detection. Because when you take your AirPods out of your ears, they automatically turn off.
To enable automatic ear detection, just follow the same steps as above to disable the feature. However, if the feature is enabled but not working, try resetting your AirPods.
Next, make sure your AirPods are clean. The proximity sensor will not work if earwax or other substances have accumulated on it. As a result, the headphones are constantly playing as if they are in your ears, which leads to rapid battery drain.
5- The AirPods are not charging:
If your AirPods won't charge when plugged in, connect them to your iPhone to verify that the charging cable works. If it starts charging, the problem may be with the Lightning connector in the AirPods charging case.
Make sure that the charging port is clean and free of dust and try cleaning it with a thin tool to remove any accumulated dirt, but be careful not to damage the delicate metal connectors inside the port.
If the cable is in good condition and no debris has accumulated on the charging port, plug the headphones into the charger for 15 minutes. If it does not start charging, contact Apple Support for repair or replacement.
