Apple announced on Saturday that it will hold its 34th Annual Developer Conference, WWDC 2023, from June 5-9, 2023, and there are rumors that Apple may announce as many as three new devices during this week's meeting. The following are included:
15.5 inch MacBook Air:
There have been many rumors that Apple may launch a new version of the 13.6-inch MacBook Air this year and launch a 15.5-inch MacBook Air computer with a larger screen. The 15.5-inch MacBook Air will provide an alternative to the MacBook Pro models for customers looking for a lightweight device with a large screen.
The 15.5-inch MacBook Air will be slightly larger than the old 15.4-inch MacBook Pro, and will fit the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. The 15.5-inch MacBook Air is expected to look like an enlarged version of the 13.6-inch MacBook Air Apple released last year, without any noticeable design changes.
Mac Pro with M2 Ultra processor:
The Mac Pro was the last Mac Apple needed to upgrade its processors to Apple Silicon processors, so it has replaced Intel processors in all of its recent computers. When Apple unveiled its first processors in 2020, it hinted that it would take a few years before all devices switched to Apple's silicon processors, and that could happen in 2023.
The Mac Pro is expected to feature the same design as the current Mac Pro, with a stainless steel frame and aluminum lid. The Mac Pro is expected to be powered by a processor (M2 Ultra) featuring up to 24 CPU cores and up to 76 GPU cores backed by at least 192GB of RAM.
Currently, Macs with Apple silicon processors do not have expandable memory because the storage is attached to the motherboard, and the new Mac Pro may not have a GPU or expandable memory unless Apple decides to take action. Processors are built in or added to devices.
AR / VR Mixed Reality Glasses:
Apple has repeatedly delayed the release of AR/VR mixed reality glasses, but will likely showcase them at its 2023 developer conference. In February, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said Apple would show AR/VR glasses at WWDC but bring them later in the year to market, but that remains to be seen. Clear.
A few days ago, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple had postponed the mass production stage of mixed reality glasses, which means that they will not be shown at the WWDC conference.
A delay in mass production does not necessarily mean a delay in product testing, as Apple plans to release AR / VR glasses long before their launch.
As for the features, there are rumors that the mixed reality AR / VR glasses will include advanced technology, one type of screen (4K Micro-OLED), dozens of cameras to track all facial expressions, gestures, etc., but they also have negative aspects such as: the need to carry external batteries powered on the glasses.
New OS updates:
At WWDC 2023, Apple will unveil new versions of its operating systems, namely: iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS Ventura 14, tvOS 17, and watchOS 10. It is expected that the iOS 17 update will include new features requested by users, although there are no which gives confirmation of what these features will be.
