ViewSonic Omni VX2416 24" 1080p 1ms 100Hz Gaming Monitor with IPS Panel, AMD FreeSync, Eye Protection, HDMI, DisplayPort, Black

There are a lot of details about this screen that make it stand out, but once you delve into it you can see why the price.

First of all, its panel is "VA", which does not mean that it is bad, on the contrary, its contrast value is much higher than other panels, but its weakness is very annoying to some users, especially gamers. Panels of this type often suffer from what they call "ghosting," and this screen is no exception. Ghosting occurs because pixels move very slowly on the screen compared to other types of panels. If we configure the screen for a high refresh rate, the image can scroll a little or even more. In competitive games (especially FPS) this usually has some drawbacks as the image is not quite as clear and you can confuse the aim.

Fortunately, this monitor includes some features that, if you know how to use them, can free you from "ghosting" to a certain extent, but at a price where you cannot activate all the functions at the same time, such as: if you enable the "1ms" mode , you will not be able to enable the display's built-in vertical sync, and vice versa. With this mode activated (1ms), the maximum brightness is slightly reduced, if you are used to having a lot of sharpness, the possible loss of brightness is somewhat annoying. Another detail is that this screen is equipped with color profiles, depending on the lens, which we also do not have access to if we activate the "1ms" mode. VSync is a technology that allows us to correct the so-called "tearing" on the screen, a phenomenon that allows us to see damaged images, and by integrating "Freensync" we can eliminate them.

I recommend these settings depending on the type of game

Rival FPS games: 1ms at +144Hz. This configuration allows us to significantly reduce "ghosting" as the screen tries to update the image as quickly as possible and we can enjoy a good gaming experience without errors. Unfortunately, we cannot activate "Freesync" with this configuration and "tearing" occurs.

- Single and silent game: "Freesync" + 144 Hz + Preferred color profile: In this configuration we can enjoy games with more options at the expense of "ghosting". However, since this is a relatively passive or standalone game, we don't place too high demands on the competition's center of gravity and the screen can produce more brightness in this configuration.

On the plus side, the monitor has very good built-in mid/treble speakers, lacking in bass, but we're not asking for much either, right?

The material is of high quality and the base design is very delicate. Unfortunately, the height cannot be adjusted, but the inclination can.

Overall, I think it's good value for money with excellent image quality, and if you know how to take advantage of its strengths, don't worry too much about its shortcomings.
