Scrolling on Windows is still a year behind the Mac — even scrolling with the trackpad compared to the scroll wheel on Windows feels choppy and inconsistent, while the Mac still feels smooth and fluid no matter what device you're using. This mouse with a scroll wheel in "MagSpeed" free-to-play mode is about as close as I've come to scrolling on a Windows PC like a Mac. He is really nice. I didn't put it in tangled mode. I see a lot of reviews talking about inconsistent scrolling with this mouse, but I can't say I've tried it. For context, I'm using the Lightspeed connector, not Bluetooth, which I'm sure plays a huge role in free spin. Let's take a look at the math behind it. Logitech claims a 1ms response time for Lightspeed, while Bluetooth can go as low as 34ms but often exceeds 100-300ms. In full rotation "MagSpeed" mode, this mouse can play 1000 lines per second. So yes, for a computer to adapt to these linear signals, it needs a response time of 1ms. I also use Logitech's Options+ software, which can also play a role in scrolling stability.
Ergonomics 4/5
The ergonomics seem really good to me, but the bezels are minimal. My gloves range from M to L (or 8 and 9) so if you have L or larger hands they may not fit, but everyone has a different level of comfort. The thumb and palm are well shaped and fill the hand well (depending on your size). The matte finish is also nice to look at, I just hope it doesn't deteriorate over time.
Logitech Options + Software 5/5
The ability to program button assignments for each application is a game-changer (for me) and has really improved my workflow. DPI can also be adjusted here.
Gesture keys 5/5
- the "gesture" button on the bottom thumb restarts the mac like a mouse user gesture, I kind of forgot I lost it but I use it all the time now.
Resolution 5/5
- I found 8k dpi too high for my monitor which for me was one of the deciding factors between this and my old mouse on the MX 3 on this monitor. However, this 8k setting is very fast - very fast - so I currently have it set to 55% speed. Let's look at the math again - if you have an 8k monitor, a mouse set to the widest dpi will move from the far left of the screen to the far right when the mouse moves 1 inch. It's fast - you may find that 8K isn't quite enough for your needs. However, all of this can be easily adjusted in the Options+ program and it feels smoother than any mouse or trackpad I've ever used. Haven't used it on glass yet - I'm sure DPI helps with that.
Click 4/5
- Honestly, I don't think I like the soft-click feel, I also like the clickable keyboard, but I like it more and more. It's enough to make me reconsider what kind of keyboard I use. The feel of the click and the sound is ultimately up to your preference. So all I can say is you can feel the click but hardly hear it. Search YouTube and even Amazon reviews, I've seen sound comparisons to this mouse, so judge for yourself.
shortening:
Work environment:
- The missing spot on top is due to size - the ring finger rests on the table like the previous mouse, so I'm used to it, but it would be better if there was a place to rest or wing on the right side of this mouse. I don't know, it's still a preference and style, but as for me, I'd rate ergonomics higher if my pinky wasn't touching the table.
Click:
As a side note, how quiet the clicks are. It feels good, the sound...well, there isn't. So if you're used to satisfying clicking noises, it can be annoying.

Incorrectly assigned button functions in the app:
There is sometimes a problem when using the Logi Options + program to customize button operation for each application. It doesn't happen often, once or twice a week, but it seems like it forgets how to switch between apps and uses incorrect key assignments. While it's a little annoying, it seems to instantly remember when I open the Logi Options+ app, or when I'm patient enough to disconnect after not opening the Logi app for a few minutes. Something might have gone wrong with switching apps and opening too many windows.
