iPhone Photos app highlights and how to use them

Apple continues to add many features to the Photos app on the iPhone, including Auto Picture, which gives users better organization and quick access to their photos, and many other features that not many people know about. Probably not, and I'll mention a few:

1- Integrated search button:

You may have hundreds or thousands of photos and videos in the Photos app on your iPhone, which can make it difficult to find a specific photo. But you can easily find any photo using the built-in search button at the bottom right of the Photos app's homepage.

You can click on this button and type in a word: cat for example, and all pictures of cats will appear in the app. You can also search for images that contain a specific phrase by typing it in the search box.

2- The function of removing the background from the image:

In the iOS 16 update, Apple added a new feature to the Photos app that allows you to remove the background from a photo with a single tap. Usually people use some photo editor or app to remove background but with this feature you don't need any 3rd party apps you can just tap and hold on the photo especially the part you want to separate no matter it's a person or something else copy and paste it in New wallpaper or send a wallpaper without using the messaging app.

3- Hide the album:

The Photos app has a hidden, password-protected album where you can add photos and videos that you don't want anyone to see on your phone, and no one can access them unless you enter your phone's password. For even more protection for hidden photos, you can hide the album itself in the Photos app.

To add photos to a hidden album:

  1. Open a specific photo or select a group of photos in the iPhone's Photos app.
  2. Click the three dots button in the upper right corner and select Hide.
  3. The photos are automatically moved to a hidden album that you can access from the Albums tab.

4- Edit a group of photos and videos at once:

The Photos app lets you quickly edit a group of photos or videos by copying edits from one photo or video to another. This feature allows you to make adjustments to a specific photo and then duplicate it by clicking on the (Copy Adjustments) button and apply it to a group of other photos and videos.

5- Show the advantages of duplicating photos and videos:

The Photos app on your iPhone has a feature that automatically detects duplicate photos and videos, which you can delete to free up space on your phone. To use this feature, do the following:

  1. Open the Photos app on your iPhone.
  2. Click the Albums tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Utilities section where you will find several options.
  4. Click on the (Duplicate) option to view all duplicate photos. After that, you can start deleting all unwanted photos.

6- Benefits of copying text from an image:

The Photos app on iPhone has a built-in scanner that allows you to copy and paste text that appears in a particular photo into another app. You can try this feature by following these steps:

  1. Open the image with text in the Photos app.
  2. Click on the scanner icon that appears in the lower right corner of the image.
  3. The phone will recognize the text from the image, then you can press the (Copy) button to copy it or the (Share) button to send it to others via other applications.
