Microsoft continues to develop its Edge browser and adds several useful features, the latest being the Bing button in the browser that provides access to the Bing engine powered by the ChatGPT bot functionality. Another notable feature is Microsoft Edge's split-screen feature, but it's hidden and Microsoft didn't add a built-in button to access it without activating it.
This feature allows you to split the browser window into two parts to easily access information in two different places without constantly switching between them, which increases productivity and helps you complete your work in Edge browser.
When the split screen feature is enabled, a new button in the form of a rectangle with a horizontal line in the middle is added to the main toolbar. When you click it, the tab you're on will shift to the left and your other tabs will appear in the other half. You can change the size of each page by dragging the blue bar that appears in the middle of the screen.
This feature is available in the latest version of Edge browser for Windows PC, Mac computer, and Linux OS computer users.
Here's how to use Edge's new split screen feature:
Before you can use the split screen feature in Edge browser, you need to enable it by following these steps:
1- Copy the following link: edge://flags/#edge-split-screen
2- Paste it in the address bar of Edge browser.
3- You will be taken to a new page with the Microsoft Edge Split Screen option, and next to it you will find the (Default) button, click on it and other options will appear for you to choose from (Enable).
4- Click on the restart button that appears in the lower right corner of the screen.
5- After restarting the Edge browser, you will see a new button in the form of a rectangle with a horizontal line in the middle that appears next to the address bar.
Click on it and the tab you're on will move to the left side of the screen and a second tab will appear on the other side.
6- If you are working on a single tab, the second half of the page will appear blank as shown in the image below. On this page you can open a new tab to work at the same time.
