The Shared Albums feature in iCloud lets you easily share photos and videos on your iPhone, iPad, or MacBook with other Apple device users. All you have to do is invite the people you want to share the album with through their iCloud account.
However, if you want to share the contents of your Shared Album with people who don't use Apple devices and don't have an iCloud account, you can use a feature called (Public Website) that allows you to turn your Shared Album into a web page for anyone to use the link anyone with Links to the site Access and view images on it.
How to use this feature to share Shared Albums with Android and Windows PC users:
1- How to create a shared album:
You can use Shared Albums to share your photos and videos with other people. Follow these steps to create a shared album:
On your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Photos app and go to the Albums tab.
- Click the (+) button in the upper left corner and select New Shared Album.
- Name the album and click Next.
- Click Create and you have a new shared album.
- Click the album to open it.
- Click the (+) button, select the photos and videos you want to add to the album, and then click the Add option.
- Click the (Publish) button to move the photo to the album.
On Mac computers:
If you create a shared album on your iPhone or iPad and have iCloud sync turned on, it will automatically appear in the Photos app on your Mac. However, if you do not enable this feature or prefer to use a Mac computer, you can create a shared album by following these steps:
- Open the Photos app on your Mac computer.
- Click the (+) button next to the Shared Album option in the Albums section.
- Name the album and click Create.
- Double-click an album to open it.
- Click the Add Photos and Videos button, then select all the photos and videos you want to add and then click Add.
2- How to convert a shared album into a webpage:
After creating a shared album on your device, you can turn it into a web page and send a link to specific people to view the photos. To do this, follow these steps:
On your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Photos app, then tap the Albums tab.
- Go to the Shared Albums section and click Shared Albums.
- Click the person icon at the top of the page.
- You will be redirected to the Edit Shared Album page and check the Public location option there.
- Wait for the app to generate the album link, then click the Share Link button and send the link to the people you want to share the album content with.
On Mac computers:
- Open the Photos app and go to the shared album.
- Click on the icon that appears as a person in the toolbar and select the option (public website).
- Wait a few seconds and you will see a link under the (Public Location) option.
- Copy the link and send it to your friends or family.
People you share the link with can click it to access any media files you've added to the shared album. In this way, you can easily share the contents of your photo album with Android users and Windows PC. Just be sure to share the web link with him, because anyone can access the album's content using that link.
If you want to remove access to this album, you can disable the (public location) option by repeating the same steps you followed for enabling. You can also delete the contents of the shared album or the album itself. In this case, you're only deleting copies of the photos and videos in the album, not the original files in the Photos app.
