When Apple released iOS 16, it added a new feature that allows you to select multiple contacts on iPhone and then copy, send, merge or delete all selected contacts at once.
Here we explain how to use this feature and another method you can use to delete multiple contacts at once:
1- How to delete multiple contacts on iPhone:
To delete multiple contacts on your phone at once, you can follow the steps below:
- Open the Phone app and go to the Contacts tab.
- Long press with two fingers to select one contact and swipe up and down to select the contact to delete.
- When you have selected all the contacts you want to delete, lift your finger.
- Long press on the selected contact, a pop-up menu will appear with multiple options: Copy, Split, Merge, and Delete.
- Click Delete.
This is the easiest way to delete multiple contacts from iPhone at once. However, if this method does not work for you because the contacts are not next to each other, you can try the next method which requires the use of iCloud.
2- How to delete multiple contacts on iPhone using iCloud:
If you use iCloud, you can access your contacts on any Apple device you own. Any changes you make will automatically appear on all devices associated with the same iCloud account. So, you can follow the steps below to delete multiple contacts at once using iCloud on your Mac computer and the changes will be reflected on your iPhone:
- Go to iCloud.com on your computer (not your phone) and sign in with your Apple ID and password.
- From the home screen, select Contacts.
- Press and hold the Ctrl key on your Mac computer keyboard and then select all the contacts you want to delete.
- Click on the "Settings" icon that appears at the bottom left of the screen.
- Click the Delete button.
- In the popup, tap Delete again to confirm.
The selected contacts will be deleted from all your devices. You can go to your iPhone's phone app and check if the deleted contact is no longer there.
