WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature that allows users to set expiration dates for groups.
The site, which monitors experimental WhatsApp features, says it detected the feature in the service's app build 23.5.0.70 (iOS).
WABetaInfo added that this beta version of WhatsApp includes general improvements and bug fixes.
He also said that WhatsApp is working on a new feature called Expired Groups, which will allow users to set a "specific end date" for their groups.
The site states that once the end date is reached, users will see a warning about group deletion. He also posted screenshots showing the option to set the group end date that is included in the group message.
Once this feature is enabled, users can choose from multiple expiration options such as: b- Daily, Weekly, or Custom date. If they want to cancel the end date, they can also remove the previously set end date. This option seems to work for moderators as it does not work for other group participants.
It is believed that the (full collections) function can provide a good solution to a common problem, since collections tend to get messy and can become irrelevant over time.
In addition, the feature provides users with a great storage tool to save space by managing groups over time, especially for groups created specifically for certain events, for example a hosting party.
This indicates that (end groups) is a feature that is under development and may be introduced in a future app update.
It should also be noted that a couple of days ago, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is currently testing a new feature that will allow users to mute incoming calls from unknown numbers.
The site published a screenshot of the feature under the title (Silencing Unknown Callers), where WhatsApp stated: “Incoming calls from unknown numbers will be silenced. They are displayed in the list of calls and notifications.
Those who want to try out the new features can sign up for WhatsApp on the Android beta program, and can also manually download and install the latest beta version of the app from here. You can also sign up for the iOS beta program here.
