Yesterday, Apple started releasing iOS 16.4 for iPhone users, which includes a lot of new features, improvements, security updates, and bug fixes.
If you are using iPhone 8 or later, you can install iOS 16.4 on your phone by following these steps:
- Go to Settings on your iPhone.
- Click General Options.
- Click on the Software Update (Update Operating System) option. When there is a new update, you will most likely see a notification that it is ready. Click on the download and install option.
Here are the most important new iPhone features after installing iOS 16.4:
1- The sound insulation feature of the phone:
Apple first introduced noise isolation in iOS 15, but only for FaceTime calls, but now with the release of iOS 16.4, you can use the feature in calls as well.
This feature focuses on your voice during calls and reduces distracting background noise. So, with this feature enabled, you can answer calls in any crowded place, and the person on the phone will clearly hear you without having to raise their voice or repeat themselves.
2- Get a notification from the web application:
This feature allows iPhone users to receive notifications from websites added to their home screen, and web app notifications work like notifications from other apps when the Lock screen is displayed, in Notification Center, and on paired Apple Watch devices.
3- Get a new emoji:
After you update your iPhone operating system to iOS 16.4, you'll find 21 new emojis (up to 31 if you add a different shade to each emoji) to use in everyday conversations.
New emojis include animals, musical instruments, hand gestures, new heart symbol colors, and more.
4- New features in Accessibility settings:
Apple added a new feature called (Dim Flashing Lights) in the accessibility settings to help people who are sensitive to flashing lights, as this new feature automatically dims the screen brightness when a flashing light appears while watching a video.
VoiceOver features also include maps and weather apps.
5- Find Duplicate Photos in iCloud Photo Library:
In iOS 16, Apple introduced a feature that automatically detects duplicates of photos and videos and groups them into an album called Duplicates Album so you can easily delete them and save space on your phone.
But in iOS 16.4, the duplicate photos in iCloud Shared Photo Library are also added to the album, which saves storage space in iCloud.
6- Apple Podcasts app improvements:
iOS 16.4 introduces a number of new features for the Apple Podcasts app. The app's new channel menu allows you to access all the broadcast channels you follow in one place, and (Up Next) takes you to episodes. If you save episodes to your library, in addition to episodes of saved shows that you haven't subscribed to, you can also remove unwanted episodes from your queue.
When you view shows you are subscribed to, you will also see new information, for example b. How many episodes of a particular podcast have you not heard yet? If your car is compatible with CarPlay, you can now access your Up Next menu, a list of episodes you've recently played in your car, and recommendations for you in the Browse tab.
7- Improved collision detection function:
Collision detection is an important feature in the iPhone 14 mobile phone because if the user gets into a serious car accident and cannot use the mobile phone, the feature will automatically call the emergency services and alert their contacts.
This feature is designed to detect severe collisions, but will automatically call emergency services only if the user moves forcefully, similar to an accident such as a car. B. Skating and roller coasters.
However, Apple said that it improved this feature in iOS 16.4 to avoid false positives for the feature that was encountered earlier.
8- Solve some problems:
- In iOS 16.4, Apple fixed some bugs from previous versions, including:
- Fixed an issue where purchase order notifications would not appear on parent devices when a child sends a purchase order from their device.
- Fixed an issue where the Matter Thermostat would not respond when paired with the Apple Home app.
