The Google Chrome solution cannot save the password

Google Chrome has a built-in password management tool called (Password Manager) that allows you to easily log in to many websites without having to enter your password every time you log into a specific website.

However, if Chrome does not save your passwords, there are several reasons for the password manager to fail, including: password saving settings, other settings related to extensions installed in the browser, and so on.

If you encounter a problem that Google Chrome cannot save passwords, you can try the following methods to solve the problem:

1- Update Google Chrome:

The first thing you can try to fix the browser not saving passwords issue is to check if your Google Chrome browser has been updated to the latest version. Although most browsers, including Chrome, update automatically, it's best to make sure that it's up to date before trying other ways to fix the problem. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click the three dots menu button, then click Help.
  2. Click on the option (About Google Chrome).
  3. Chrome automatically checks if your browser is up to date. If there is an update, a message will appear next to the current version icon (Chrome is up to date). If the version is older, the "Update Google Chrome" button will appear. Click on it, and then click on the (restart) button.

2- Make sure that password saving is enabled:

If Chrome doesn't give you the option to save passwords, make sure Offer to save passwords is enabled. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Click the three-dot menu button and choose Settings.
  2. Click on the (AutoFill) option, then on the (Password Manager) option.
  3. Make sure that the option (Offer to save password) is selected.

After enabling this feature, Google Chrome will prompt you to save passwords when logging into a website.

Follow the steps below to enable this feature in the Google Chrome app on your phone:

  1. Open the Google Chrome app on your phone, hit the three dots menu button and select Settings.
  2. Click on the "Password Manager" option and make sure that the "Save passwords" option is selected.

3- Check the password settings for a specific website:

Even after enabling the feature (Save password suggestion), the password saving suggestion may not appear on some websites. If so, you may have previously disabled some of the site's features. To be on the safe side, do the following:

  1. Click on the three-dot menu button and go to Settings.
  2. Click on the (AutoFill) option and select (Password Manager).
  3. Scroll down to Options (Never Save). From there you can see a list of websites for which you have disabled the option to save passwords.
  4. Verify that the website for which you want to save the password is listed. If it is present, click the (X) next to it to remove it from the list.

Follow these steps to check password settings for a specific website in the Google Chrome app on your phone:

  1. Click on the three-dot menu button and go to Settings.
  2. Click on the (Password Manager) option, then on the (Never Save) option.
  3. Locate the website you're having trouble with, select it and click on the trash can icon at the top.

4- Check your cookie settings:

If you do not allow Google Chrome to save cookies and site data, you will not be able to save your passwords after closing all Chrome windows. Therefore, you must make sure that the feature is disabled (clear cookies and site data when all windows are closed), you can do this by following these steps:

  1. Click on the three-dot menu button and go to Settings.
  2. Click on the (Privacy and Security) option, then select (Cookies and other site data) Cookies and other site data.
  3. Scroll down until you find the option (Clear cookies and site data when all windows are closed). If this option is enabled, disable it by toggling the button next to it.

5- Clear browsing data:

Clearing browsing data, cache, and cookies can fix problems with Google Chrome not saving passwords. Follow these steps to clear your browsing data and cache:

  1. Click on the three-dot menu button and go to Settings.
  2. Click on the "Privacy and Security" option and then select "Clear browsing data".
  3. Select (All time) from the menu that appears next to the time window.
  4. Enable the Browsing history option, the Cookies and other site data option, and the Cached images and files option.
  5. Click the Clear data button to clear cache and cookies.

  1. Open the Chrome app and tap the three-dot menu button.
  2. Go to Settings (Settings).
  3. Click on the "Privacy and Security" option and then select "Clear browsing data".

6- Sign in to your Google account again or try a different account:

Another way to fix Google Chrome not saving passwords is to sign out of your account and sign in again. To sign out of your Google account, go to Settings and tap the Sign Out option at the bottom.

If the problem persists, you can try to sign in with a different Google account or create a new one. To do this, click on your account picture shown in the upper right corner and click on the "Add" button. Then select (call) to connect. You can then create a new account or log into an existing account.

7- Try disabling add-ons:

Some extensions installed in Google Chrome can cause problems. If you are having trouble saving passwords in Chrome, please disable all extensions and restart your browser. If this fixes the problem, you can first enable an extension and check which extension is causing the problem. Once you identify the problematic extension, remove it and Chrome can save your passwords.
