Snapchat allows its users to pause "following"

Snap (Snap) Inc. on Wednesday announced plans to temporarily suspend a feature called (Snap Effect) Snap Streaks for users of its photo messaging service (Snapchat).

A big problem among Snapchatters is keeping track of your interactions with your Snapchat friends every 24 hours.

Snap promotes the feature, which launched in 2016, as a way for Snapchatters to celebrate the friendships they make every day. But with busy lives like exams and camping trips, along with bad service or broken phones, sometimes users need a break.

"Lost Snap progress doesn't mean your friendship has faded, so starting today we're going to make it easier to part with a new feature we're testing that allows you to rekindle that spark and reclaim the lead for a free fingertip." the company said in a blog post.

Users can "choose to add more resume lines directly from the app," the company said, and in the US each line break costs 99 cents.

Snap also mentioned that subscribers to its paid (Snapchat Plus) Snapchat+ service will soon be able to freeze tracks. So, in both cases, users have to pay to continue tracking.

Notably, the release comes two days after Snap announced yesterday (Wednesday) the launch of an intelligent chatbot (My AI) based on the latest version of the popular ChatGPT software.

On Investor Day in February, Snap announced that it now has more than 750 million monthly active users, including more than 2.5 million Snapchat+ subscribers.

At the same time, there were announcements for content creators and developers, as the company said it was offering developers ray tracing technology for photorealistic footage. In addition, features are provided to make it easier for creators to use licensed sounds in their footage.
