I used it for the first time yesterday and had a great experience. There is no water leakage, which is of course the minimum of my expectations. Best of all, it's easy to adjust, just push the small spring-loaded tabs on either side and tighten the timing belt if needed. This simple design seems to hold up well and not fall apart.
I prefer to hold the cups "tightly" with a suction cup. Minimum possible freedom of movement. For me, it provides protection for maximum wearing comfort without "raccoon eyes" due to excessive pressure around the eye sockets.
The girdle at the back is divided into two parts that join gently from the back of the head to almost the base of the skull. It is more effective than a single band.
Similar glasses were launched about 8-10 years ago and they seem to be getting better and better. This example is no exception. It should fit just about everyone, but I've learned that for best results, your swimming cap and hair should be kept out of the way.
I've only done a few laps indoors so this clear lens model is perfect. The view is excellent without distortion. Eventually, the factory-applied anti-fog coating wears off and begins to fog. I have an anti-fog spray with me just in case.
These look sturdy and well made and should last a long time. Fortunately, they include a mesh drawstring bag for storage and can be lined up to dry when not in use. Several manufacturers have switched to this case from old plastic clamshell cases I never used.
Whether it is worth it or not is up to you. Similar glasses average around $15 I think, but the market seems to be going up in the $17-22 range. It's amazing how many "you get what you pay for!" glasses you can find. $2.57 for an astronomical amount of $1,070! These seem higher than they should be but still within the fair market range for this type of product. However, new products tend to be more expensive when they hit the market. Prices usually fall in the short term.
