The TP-Link Axle16000 (aka The Archer Ax300) WiFi 6E Quadriband Router is one of the most expensive routers out there, but it has more than enough power and features to justify the price. If you're looking for a router that melts into your furniture, forget about it. If you want to assert yourself as an experienced user, then this is the router you need.
My ISP plan is 800mbps, but I'm using about 930mbps with a DOCSYS 3.1 cable modem. If you choose to upgrade, this router can manage it. If your internet package is 400Mbps or less, you can easily use a WiFi 5 (AC) or WiFi 6 (AX) router, which is much cheaper.
This is the sixth WiFi modem to include the 6MHz band in addition to the more popular 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. In addition, there are two 5 GHz bands. Note that very few devices support the 6GHz band. Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra has this functionality. Some Windowsx 11 computers support 6GHz. Windows 10 does not currently support 6GHz, even if you install the appropriate adapter. Microsoft chose to block 6GHz on Windows 10. If you insist, there is also an override.
With a channel bandwidth of 160MHz on either of the two 5GHz bands, I got download and upload speeds of 1815/2402Mbps. This gave me a WiFi speed test rate of 400Mbps, half of my internet bandwidth plan. It's very good because you can't get the same speeds on WiFi as you can on wired Ethernet.
I'm using a 2.5Gb ethernet connection between the router and my main computer. With two 10Gb ports and one 2.5Gb port, you can overcome the speed limitations of routers that only use 1Gb ports.
