MacGPT The first app to use ChatGPT on Mac

Users of ChatGPT, the AI-powered chat service, can now use the popular chatbot as a separate app on macOS computers via the new MacGPT app, which is free for Mac users.

The new app offers an easier way to use ChatGPT than the web version via a browser, as users can easily access the app from the macOS main menu bar.

The application allows users to log in with the same account as the web version of ChatGPT. It allows users to start new chats and resume old chats via the MacGPT interface. The application also offers the ability to permanently display its interface on top of other windows, as well as the ability to register keyboard shortcuts to launch a chat window at any time.

The application also adds its icon to the main menu bar of the Mac OS, giving users quick and easy access to ChatGPT even when using other applications in full screen mode.

MacGPT is the first application to provide access to ChatGPT as a standalone desktop application. It should be noted that Microsoft offers multiple ways to access its version of ChatGPT: through the desktop, through the Windows taskbar with the new Bing search feature, and through chat applications (Skype) and browsers (Edge). However, Microsoft's ChatGPT mod differs from the original in that it imposes a number of restrictions on text size, the number of chat roles per conversation, and the maximum number of conversations allowed per day, which the original ChatGPT service was not enforced. This makes it the preferred way for many people to chat with bots.

It should be noted that MacGPT is not an official ChatGPT application but it is the work of the application developer (Jordy Bruin) and is freely available at this link.
