The iPhone and iPad operating system has a built-in screen recording function. It records video from your iPhone or iPad screen to show you how to do something while recording and explain your voice. Then, you can easily email the video to a specific person or different messaging apps.
Although there are many screen recording apps available in the App Store for iPhone and iPad users, you don't need to download third-party apps. Just use the built-in screen recording feature because it is very easy to use, and what we will explain below is how to use it, how to edit the video after recording and how to share it:
1- How to set up screen recording on iPhone and iPad:
Before you can use the screen recording feature, you need to set it up and configure the screen recording button in Control Center. To do this, follow these steps:
1- Go to (Settings) and click on the (Control Center) option.
2- Scroll down to the More Controls section to find the Screen Recording option and click on the green plus sign (+) that appears next to it.
3- The Screen Recording icon will appear in the Control Center. You can access it by swiping up from the bottom of the screen, or if you have a newer iPhone or iPad, by swiping up from the top right without the Home button.
2- To start the screen recording:
Follow the steps below to start recording a video of your screen on your iPhone or iPad:
1- Open the Control Center and press the Screen Capture button that appears as a circle with another small circle inside it.
3- After pressing it, you have three seconds to close the control center, then the phone will start recording. A red bar will appear at the top of the screen to notify you that the screen recording has started.
4- If you want to talk while recording the screen, press and hold the screen recording icon.
5- A context menu will appear with a number of options in the middle of the screen.
6- Click on the microphone icon and then click on the start recording button to start.
7- When the recording is finished, you can choose the quickest way to stop the recording by clicking on the red timer that appears at the top of the screen. Then a notification (Screen Recording of Video Saved to Photos) will appear in the Notification Center, indicating that the video you recorded has been saved to the Photos (Photos) app.
You can tap the notification to go directly to the Photos app and view the recorded video. You can also go to Control Center and tap the screen recording icon to stop recording.
3- How to edit and share screen recording videos:
When you're done capturing your screen, your device will automatically save the video to the Photos app. Follow the steps below to start editing your screen recording video:
1- Open the video by tapping on the notification that will appear in the notification center once the video recording is completed. Or you can go to the Photos app and open the video from there.
2- Screen recording videos can be edited like any other video in the Photos app. By opening the video in the picture and clicking on the "Edit" button that appears in the upper right corner.
3- A slider will appear below Screen Capture. There are bars at both ends of the slider, which you can use to cut off part of the beginning or end of the video. You can simply drag the bars to set the start or end of the video recording.
4- When you are finished editing your video, press the "Finish" button.
5- Click on the Save as New Clip option.
6- Once you have recorded the screen recording video, you can click the Share button that appears as an up arrow to email the video or send it to a messaging app.
If your device's built-in screen recording feature is not working properly, you can use one of the third party apps available in the App Store, for example: (Screen Recorder: Go Record) or (ApowerREC: Record Screen) or (Screen Recorder, Capture the screen).
