American company (AMD) AMD has announced the launch of its latest mobile processor series, the Ryzen 7045HX, after its debut earlier this year.
The new series of processors are the company's first 16-core processors for laptops, which helps them deliver record processing speeds, making them the most powerful processors available for laptops.
Dubbed the Dragon Range, the Ryzen 7045HX series is based on the same desktop processor technology as the company, with identical configurations of 16-, 12-, 8- and 6-core desktop processors.
The company said it compared the new 7045HX series processors to the 6900HX series, including mobile devices, and found that the new processors deliver between 41% and 211% better performance in various applications. It was also noted that the new processor was 22% faster in the single-core test and 123% faster in the multi-core test. Additionally, the company compared the most powerful processor in the series to the 16-core i9-12900HX desktop processor, and found the new processor to be between 18% and 169% faster, according to multiple benchmarking software.
Starting this weekend, the company is announcing that its new processors will soon be available in recent Alienware, Asus, and Lenovo laptops. It said the first devices to feature the new processors are Alienware's M16 and M18, Asus' Scar G17, Zephyrus Duo, and Lenovo Legion 5 Pro and 7 Pro. Other companies, including MSI, will release devices with the new processors in the coming months.
