Chipset manufacturer AMD has given out a problem with its graphics card drivers and explains why.
Since mid-February, users of AMD graphics cards have been reporting that installing drivers prevents Windows from booting completely.
Despite reports on various social media and forums, AMD has only hesitated with an official statement on the matter.
The company now claims to be able to reproduce the problem and has identified the option (factory reset) as the main issue with the Adrenaline Driver Pack.
The issue reported earlier this year is believed to be a bug in the Adrenaline 23.2.1 driver package.
AMD users with this issue notice a restart after restart error when trying to install the driver. After this error occurs, affected users have two options: either to try to restore a previous restore point or to completely reinstall Windows.
(AMD) PCWOWLD said that it had detected an error that could lead to the fact that after selecting the software option (factory reset) the driver option cannot be started.
The company added: "We have reproduced an issue that can occur in rare cases if a PC update occurs when installing AMD: Adrenaline Edition software and we are actively examining it."
We recommend that users ensure that all operating system updates are applied or stopped before installing drivers and that the option (factory reset) is deactivated during the driver installation process.
"We seek to resolve issues as soon as possible and urgently recommend that users report problems with AMD: Adrenaline Edition software via the error reporting tool," the company said.
