Samsung has announced a new update to its Camera Assistant app, which it released exclusively for the Galaxy S22 Ultra last year, and says that the app will soon be available on a number of older phones, in addition to being available on the new Galaxy S23 Ultra. .
The app can be downloaded along with the main Camera app to add a host of features that the stock app doesn't offer because it has new features that improve camera performance and change the default way photos are taken.
The new update provides more precise control, so that adjustments can be made to adjust the images, as the feature can be completely removed or its degree changed. The app also provides an option to increase the speed of taking pictures by controlling the shutter speed. The user can choose to capture the image as quickly as possible with just one button press, at the expense of the low quality of the captured image, choose between speed and quality, or focus on quality rather than the relatively slow image capture.
Users of the app can also change the function of long pressing the photo capture button, which by default switches between taking still photos and capturing videos, but users of new update updates can change this function to take animated GIFs instead of recording videos.
To improve recording speed in low-light conditions, the update brings the option to disable Auto HDR in Settings.
Additionally, this update adds the ability to take photos based on the timer, which can be set to take multiple photos at intervals of one to three seconds.
Finally, the app helps users save battery life by automatically reducing screen brightness when recording 1- to 10-minute long videos.
In addition to the Galaxy S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra, the app is already available on the Samsung App Store for series phones Note 20, S20, S21, S22 series, Z Flip 3, Z Flip 4, Z Fold 2, Z Fold 3, and Z Fold 4 series.
