I received this tablet for free through Amazon Vine and here is my honest review. I had never heard of the Fivahiva brand. This tablet appears to be very similar to many of the other branded tablets listed here on Amazon. The tablet is for kids, but there's nothing unique about it being just a kids' tablet. My tablet is connected and the camera is off. Perhaps it has something to do with advertising as a "children's gaming tablet". I don't know, but I'm someone who puts tape on my phone and tablet cameras, so I was really happy to see that. I activated the cameras to see if they worked and they did. I can't tell if the 8MP rear camera is what they claim to be, but the few photos I took looked fine. When it comes to gaming, it really matters. If your child plays resource-intensive games, I expect this tablet to struggle. But for light gaming it should be fine.
I've had the tablet for a few days and overall I'm happy with it. Let me be clear: if you're expecting performance from Apple iPads or Samsung Galaxy tablets, you'll be sorely disappointed. But we're in for a treat with a 10-inch tablet listed for $69.90 plus a 20% off coupon offer at the time of writing this review. So we're talking about a 10.1-inch tablet under $60. Keep that in mind as you read the rest of the review.
The first thing that struck me when I took the tablet out of the box was that it was so light. It is much lighter than the old iPad. For me this is a good thing. When I turned on the tablet, I was satisfied with the picture quality on the main screen. The tablet runs Android 12, which is great. I noticed that sometimes cheap phones and tablets are sold with older versions of Android. The tablet connected to my WiFi quickly and without any problems. Things are starting to pick up on Amazon and eBay. No problem. It's not as fast as a new high-end tablet. It's at least as fast or faster than my 9-year-old iPad and my current roughly 8-year-old Android tablet. do what you want. Then I jumped on YouTube. Video quality is good but not great. I've been playing around with the video settings and things have improved. It's not as sharp as the old iPad, but that's to be expected. The iPad has a much higher resolution screen.
The sound quality is not good. He is very small and weak. This is really not a problem for me because I almost always use headphones when watching videos or listening to music on my tablet or phone. This brings me to the headphone jack. Quirky. For one thing, it's in an odd place, I guess. The other and more important problem is that it has to do with the plug. If the thread vibrates the plug a little bit, the volume can go up out of nowhere. This has happened to me several times and it wasn't pleasant. It appears that the plug does not fit properly into the port. I may have to push it further, but I'm facing a lot of resistance and I don't want to break anything. I'm just being careful not to stress the headphone chord. So far this is working fine.
My tablet is connected and the battery charge is 86%. It lasted about two days of moderate use before I needed to charge it. I estimate about 5 or 6 hours of use from 86% to 5% which is when it needs to be charged. The listing clearly states that the tablet has a 6,000mAh battery. When I checked the battery capacity in settings it says 4700mAh. I suspect 4700 mAh is probably the correct capacity. Fivahiva needs to clarify this and change the listing details if this is indeed the case.
The tablet is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0. I was able to attach it to my telescope mount using the SkySafari app and move my scope around. That was a huge relief because that's one of the main things I want to use this tablet for.
So overall I give this tablet four stars. There are some quirks. The battery may not be what is advertised. The sound is not good. Contoured headphone jack. But it's cheap and does everything I want it to do well. If you just want to watch some videos, surf the web, or play light games, that's fine. And if you accidentally sit on it and break it, or if your son hits it with a hammer, it won't break your heart at this price point.
