A new report claims that Sony is developing a wireless headset designed to work with the PlayStation 5 gaming platform.
According to Insider Gaming, the Japanese company is developing a new wireless headset called Project Nomad.
Given that Sony is already one of the leading headphone manufacturers on the market today, it's no surprise that there are some new headphones in the works.
Battery life is said to be up to five hours when using the PlayStation 5-supported spatial surround sound feature.
It is expected that the headset will use the USB-C connector, which means that it can be easily charged via the front port (PlayStation 5) of the platform. Like some of Sony's best headphones, like the WF-1000XM4 and WF-1000XM3, it looks like the Project Nomad headphones will support fast charging right out of the box.
According to the report, Sony is expected to launch the new headphones in the 2023 fiscal year, which starts on April 1 and ends on March 31, 2024.
Evaluating this decision seems logical for Sony, as the company has increased its efforts in the headphones sector in recent months targeting gaming enthusiasts, as it offers a set of headphones for computer gamers: (Sony InZone) Sony InZone, and more specifically the helmet ( in the H9 region) in the H9 region.
As for the Project Nomad speakers, it should be an updated version of the WF-1000 series, with professional features such as: Tempest 3D AudioTech in a compact size.
