Report: ChatGPT is the fastest growing web application in history |
The popular chatbot (ChatGPT) of artificial intelligence technology company OpenAI has become the fastest growing consumer web application in history, according to a Reuters report on Thursday.
A UBS study released Wednesday estimated that ChatGPT reached more than 100 million monthly active users in January, just two months after its launch.
According to the report, which cites data from Analytics firm Similar Web, ChatGPT was used by an average of 13 million visitors per day in January, double the number of daily visitors to the app in December.
"After 20 years of tracking the Internet space, we cannot recall the rapid growth in the category of consumer Internet applications," UBS analysts wrote in a research note.
For comparison, TikTok took about nine months to reach 100 million users after its global launch, and Instagram took one to two years, according to Sensor Tower.
The chatbot (ChatGPT) is currently available for free, but on Wednesday OpenAI announced a paid version of the app for $20 per month.
(ChatGPT Plus) offers subscribers exclusive features such as: anytime access to the service, faster response times, and priority access to new features and improvements.
In a report published by Semafor on Wednesday, Microsoft intends to integrate a faster version of its chatbot (ChatGPT) into its Bing search engine in the coming weeks, which also cites its sources saying that (OpenAI) intends to develop a future application for the mobile startup (ChatGPT).
