Google just announced new ways to use artificial intelligence to make finding information through its search engine more natural and intuitive.
“At Google, our products are about being as useful to you as possible, no matter how big or small,” the US tech giant said in a statement. “We have always believed that the power of artificial intelligence can help us achieve one goal.
Google added that AI has helped understand language and make search results more useful since the early days of the search engine. Over the years, the company has deepened its investment in artificial intelligence, which is now capable of understanding various forms of information including: language understanding, image understanding, video understanding, and even the real world.
Cameras have become such a powerful way to explore and learn about the world around us that Lens is now used more than 10 billion times a month as people use it to search for things they see through their cameras, and create images in them. The company said.
People around the world will be able to search for content on their Android phone screens in the coming months after Google allows users to search using the camera or directly from an image in the search bar using Lens.
With this technology, the company said, users can search for what they see in photos or videos on websites or apps they use, such as messaging and video apps, without leaving the app.
Google explains: “Let's say your friend sends you a message with a video of him exploring Paris. If you want to know more about a tourist attraction you see in the background, just press and hold the power button or the home button on your Android phone. You will recognize Linz as the Luxembourg Palace and you can learn more here.”
Google, which previously introduced the multi-search feature that allows users to search using images and text simultaneously, today announced that the feature is available on smartphones around the world, and supports all languages and countries where Lens services are available.
The company said it recently developed a multi-search feature that can now search for nearby items because a user can take a photo and type in the words "near me" to find what they need, anything they need to search for nearby business support or just want to find something quickly. This feature is currently available in English in the US and will be rolled out globally in the coming months.
Google also said that in the coming months, users will be able to use the worldwide multi-search for any image they see on a mobile search results page.
Google explains: "For example, you can search for 'modern living room ideas' and see a coffee table that you like but would prefer a different shape - say it's more rectangular than round - and then you can multi-search for the word 'rectangle' plus 'to find your favorite look.
With the help of artificial intelligence, Google promises more features.
